OK Hogan was a regular visitor to Carteret County for more than 30 years before permanently moving to Beaufort in 2000. He has a special appreciation for the area, having viewed it from both out-of-town and local perspectives. He is a graduate of Campbell University and earned his MBA from UNC-Greensboro. OK is also a Retired Professional Accountant and a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).

OK and his wife, Lugean Hogan, attend First Methodist Church. They are very active in the community, especially as lifetime supporters of the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum on Harkers Island. The informal seafood dinners they regularly host at their home are well-attended and much appreciated by friends, neighbors, and their 12 grandchildren.
